Fans in the UK will once again have free access to every moment of the 2026 Six Nations Championship, thanks to broadcast coverage from the BBC and ITV.
Detailed viewing options, including international broadcasts, are available in our comprehensive guide on how to watch the Six Nations in 2026, but here we’re focusing on the UK viewing experience.
Similar to last year, the BBC and ITV will share broadcasting duties, with ITV showing 10 matches and the BBC broadcasting five.
This year’s coverage has a slight twist: ITV will exclusively broadcast all five England matches, while the BBC’s five games will always feature either Scotland or Wales.

How to watch Six Nations on the BBC – online and TV
Table of Contents
The BBC will air all its Six Nations games on free-to-air television, choosing between BBC One and BBC Two. All games will also be available to stream online via BBC iPlayer.
Accessing BBC iPlayer is free of charge, requiring only a simple registration—and a valid TV licence, of course.
How to watch Six Nations on ITV– online and TV
ITV’s coverage will span ITV1, ITVX, STV, STV Player, and UTV. Live broadcasts will be shown on ITV1 in England and Wales, with STV and UTV serving as the equivalent channels in Scotland and Northern Ireland, respectively.
ITVX is ITV’s streaming platform, offering online access to all Six Nations games. Like BBC iPlayer, registration is required, but there’s no cost to watch.
How to watch Six Nations while abroad
Traveling outside the UK during the Six Nations? Both BBC iPlayer and ITVX are geo-restricted, meaning they typically won’t work abroad. However, a VPN (Virtual Private Network) can bypass these restrictions.
A VPN alters your device’s IP address, making it appear as if you’re still located in the UK, allowing you to stream the Six Nations from anywhere in the world.
