Joetsu City Baseball team to Host Free Youth Baseball event
A local team is opening its doors to young athletes, offering a fun and accessible introduction to the sport this Sunday.

Joetsu City’s Kasuga Shinden United Fighters (Kasuga Shinden UF) are inviting young baseball enthusiasts to a free trial event this Sunday, February 1st. The session aims to introduce the sport to children and potentially recruit new players for the team.
Kasuga Shinden UF is a unique youth baseball team comprised of approximately 20 students from seven different elementary schools within Joetsu City. What sets them apart is their inclusive approach – players join regardless of their school, grade, or gender. The team’s motto, “Have fun and do your best,” reflects their commitment to fostering not only baseball skills but also essential life values like cooperation, etiquette, and physical fitness, all cultivated through a dedicated and hard-working practice environment.
Action on the Field
The baseball experience session will take place on February 1st (Sunday) from 9 a.m. to noon at the Kasugashinden Elementary School gymnasium. The event is specifically designed for children in Joetsu City,ranging in age from older kindergarteners to 4th grade elementary school students.

the session will provide a welcoming environment for children to experience the basics of baseball,including throwing and hitting. Even those with no prior experience are encouraged to participate. Participants should wear warm, comfortable clothing suitable for movement, indoor shoes (such as sneakers), bring a water bottle, a hat, and snacks like rice balls or jelly for breaks. Bats and gloves will be provided by the team.
