Los Angeles – A heartbreaking loss has struck the family of Snoop Dogg. His daughter, Cori Broadus, announced on Instagram Monday that her 10-month-old daughter, Codi Dreaux, has died after a challenging battle with health issues.

Cori Broadus shared the devastating news on Instagram, posting a black and white photo of herself holding her daughter with the caption, “On Monday I lost the love of my life. My Codi,” accompanied by a wing emoji.

A Premature Birth and a Brave Fight

Codi was born three months prematurely in February 2025 after Cori was diagnosed with HELLP syndrome, a severe pregnancy complication. The infant spent the first ten months of her life in the neonatal intensive care unit. She was finally able to go home in early January, but her health continued to be fragile.

Snoop Dogg reacted to the tragedy with an Instagram post featuring himself with Cori and his sons, Corde (31) and Cordell (28), along with a heart and a prayer emoji.

What is HELLP syndrome? HELLP syndrome is a life-threatening pregnancy complication characterized by hemolysis (breakdown of red blood cells), elevated liver enzymes, and low platelet count. It typically occurs after 20 weeks of gestation and can lead to serious complications for both mother and baby.

Cori Broadus first publicly shared her pregnancy in December 2024. The 26-year-old, who has battled lupus since age six and experienced a stroke earlier in 2024, was aware of the high risks associated with her pregnancy. She delivered her daughter via cesarean section at 25 weeks.

Despite the medical challenges, Cori consistently expressed gratitude and admiration for her daughter. In September 2025, she told us Weekly, “Codi just has so much character. The doctors and nurses always tell me, ‘Your baby has a mind of her own. She’s bright. She’s alert. She knows what’s going on around her. She can hear. She can see.Yes, the circumstances aren’t what you imagined, but it could be worse.’ This girl is just a cute little bundle of energy.”

Codi’s father, Wayne Deuce, also shared his grief on Instagram, posting a photo with his daughter and writing, “I’ve been so sad since you left me, Codi Dreaux. But I know you’re at peace now. Dad will always love you.”

Snoop Dogg to Balance Grief with Olympic Duties

Despite this profound loss, Snoop Dogg is preparing to return to his role as an Olympic commentator. He is scheduled to appear at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo in February, following a successful stint at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, were his presence reportedly boosted NBC ratings by nearly 80 percent. He will co-host with Mike Tirico (59).
