In a statement released on instagram,Féminas Perú labeled San Miguel’s statements as “not opinion,it is transphobia.” The group warned that denying the existence of trans women and associating them with danger perpetuates misinformation that fuels hatred, violence, and exclusion. They emphasized that a public figure’s expression of such views legitimizes discrimination and the denial of rights.

Journalist and trans rights activist Gianna camacho described San Miguel’s comments as “hate speech” and “ignorance appealing to morality.” camacho clarified that respect for gender identity is not contingent on hormone therapy or surgical procedures. “it’s not that they want us out of the bathroom, it’s that they want us out of society, but what a shame, because we are already here and we are not going to leave,” she stated.
