ANAHEIM, Calif. — Former Baltimore Orioles slugger Trey Mancini is pursuing another opportunity in Major League Baseball, agreeing to a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Angels that includes an invitation to big league spring training.

Mancini has batted .263 with 129 home runs and 400 RBIs over parts of seven seasons in the majors. His last appearance in the major leagues was in 2023. He initially established himself with the Orioles, where he played parts of six seasons and achieved a career-high 29 home runs in 2019.

Mancini faced a significant challenge when he missed the entire 2020 season after undergoing surgery to remove a malignant tumor from his colon.
