A driver sustained serious injuries when their car collided with a bus in Skaramangas around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026. The traffic accident created a critically important traffic jam on the Corinth-Athens highway heading inbound.
The vehicle flipped over following the forceful impact with the bus, which was traveling toward Athens. The car sustained considerable damage, and the driver became trapped inside.
Firefighters responded to the scene with two vehicles dispatched from Elefsina. they successfully freed the driver and transferred them to emergency medical services (EKAV) for treatment of their injuries.
The incident caused considerable difficulty for traffic flow toward Athens.
