In Chennai today, a liter of petrol sells for 102 rupees and 63 rupees.

Chennai:

Oil companies set petrol, diesel prices on a daily basis based on the prevailing international crude oil prices and the value of the Indian rupee against the dollar.

After 137 days, petrol, diesel and cooking gas cylinder prices were hiked again on March 22. Opposition parties have strongly condemned the move.

Meanwhile, fuel prices in various countries, including the United States, have risen by more than 51 percent due to the impact on oil supplies caused by the Russia-Ukraine war. But the central government explained that fuel prices in India have risen by only 5 per cent.

In Chennai, a liter of petrol was sold for 110 rupees 85 rupees and diesel for 100 rupees 94 rupees for the last 45 days.

In this situation, following the reduction of excise duty by the central government, petrol is being sold at Rs 8.22 per liter, down by Rs 8.22, and diesel by Rs 6.70 per liter at Rs 94.24.

Motorists are happy with the reduction in petrol and diesel prices.
