Liberal Party leader Scott Morrison has lost the Australian Prime Ministerial election.

The general election to elect the Prime Minister of Australia took place yesterday. There was a fierce rivalry between Liberal Party leader Scott Morrison and Labor leader Anthony Albanese.

With 76 seats needed to take power in Australia, the Liberal Party coalition led by Scott Morrison has won 52 seats and the Labor Party, led by Anthony Albanese, 72 seats in the polls so far.

With just 76 seats needed to win, Labor has won 72 seats in the middle of the polls, confirming that Anthony Albanese is set to become Australia’s new prime minister.
