The British company EasyJet is counting on a return to almost normal activity in the coming months. After more than two years of financial difficulties, EasyJet is posting encouraging financial results: a loss that has been greatly reduced and above all a net increase in turnover: 1.7 billion euros over one year. This is six times more than the previous year! These good results are explained by a very strong recovery in sales. For example, since Easter, the company explains that it provides 1,600 flights a day. The flights are going very well, for the Ascension, the planes are almost full.

And for this summer, it’s the same. Tourists book massively. Travel cravings are there to the point that EasyJet is planning a normal summer season, with more than a million passengers expected on its lines in July and August. However, the company has increased the price of its services on board, such as the price of luggage transport, or food. It is above all on these services that it realizes its margins.

On the other hand, despite the rise in fuel prices, it is careful not to touch too much on the average price of its plane tickets. It must be said that EasyJet like Transavia or Ryanair and most of the so-called low cost companies also benefit from the context. Because of inflation, customers are paying close attention to their expenses and they are turning even more than before to these low cost companies, which are less expensive than traditional companies.

In recent weeks EasyJet has however canceled flights. The company lacks flight personnel. This is also why ten days ago EasyJet removed seats from its planes. She didn’t have enough hostesses and stewards to take care of the tourists. This is one of the main problems in the airline sector. In companies, airports, there were so many layoffs during the pandemic that today they are understaffed and above all they all have big problems recruiting. These hiring difficulties are also likely to slow their recovery.
