A chance encounter during rehearsals for a Latvian television program in 2013 sparked a surprising connection between Olga and Ivo. The story highlights how unexpected pairings can blossom, even amidst past tensions.
Olga recounts that Latvian Television’s “Lai top!” program sought individuals with backgrounds in folk dance, choirs, and music. Having danced with the folk ensemble Rotaļa, she extended an invitation to Rotaļa XO and its leader, Ginta Baumanis, to join her in participating.
During the initial rehearsal, Ivo found himself without a partner due to a late arrival. As Olga entered the hall, the program’s leader decided to pair the two dancers together.
Olga admits to feeling a sense of apprehension, revealing a prior conflict with Ivo following a concert in Liepāja.
“They told me: go to Bankis! I was very afraid of him, because once after a concert in Liepāja, which Ivo provided technically, I told him something rude, and he said everything he thought about me,” Olga shared in an interview with “Ieva” magazine.
