Motorola to Release Line of ‘FIFA World Cup 26 Edition’ Smartphones

Motorola is gearing up to release a series of exclusive smartphones themed around the 2026 FIFA World Cup, expanding beyond a single commemorative device to encompass its Razr and signature lines. The company revealed its plans during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, confirming sponsorship of the tournament, which will be jointly hosted by Mexico, Canada, and the United States.

A Green and Gold Celebration of Football

The initial offering, the Motorola Razr ‘FIFA World Cup 26 Edition’, has already been unveiled, showcasing a striking green color scheme and adorned with motifs from the 2026 World Cup. A gold-colored World Cup logo prominently features on the device’s back. According to reports, the phone will also include custom software elements, such as exclusive wallpapers, graphics, and dedicated apps for following the tournament.

One analyst noted the device will boast 256GB of internal storage and a reinforced titanium hinge, offering IP48 water resistance. Importantly, the price point of $699.99 will remain consistent with the standard Razr model – a move Motorola is being praised for.

Beyond the Razr: A Full FIFA-Themed Catalog

But the Razr won’t be alone. Motorola intends to capitalize on the FIFA partnership with additional exclusive models. A FIFA-themed Razr Fold is also in development, as revealed by Evan Blass on February 11, 2026.

Furthermore, the company plans to release special edition versions of its motorola signature line, all featuring unique colors and designs inspired by the 2026 World Cup.

Following a Successful Playbook

This strategy mirrors a recent collaboration between Samsung and the Olympic Games. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition, released for the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, offered a similar approach of exclusive color and customization options.

A senior official stated that Motorola’s approach will likely involve maintaining identical hardware specifications across its standard and FIFA-themed models, focusing instead on aesthetic enhancements. This allows the company to offer a desirable collector’s item without significantly increasing production costs.

While concrete details regarding the signature and Razr Fold editions remain scarce, industry sources suggest a similar pattern of special colors and World Cup-inspired designs will be implemented. Motorola appears committed to leveraging the global reach of the FIFA World Cup to enhance its brand visibility and drive sales.
