Riyadh: Another Muslim country has flown a plane using only female staff, while the Taliban-led government in Afghanistan has asked foreign women journalists to cover their faces under Sharia law. Saudi Arabia has made history by operating flights with only female staff, including pilots and co-pilots. The service from Riyadh to Jeddah by Flydeal Airlines was notable for the presence of female employees.
It is the first airline in the world to include exclusively female employees. The seven-member crew, including the pilot, co-pilot and first officer, were all women. A Flydeal spokesman said most of the crew were Saudi nationals. After completing the first mission of the aircraft, airline officials responded that this was a milestone in the country’s empowerment.
