Bogotá’s massive employment fair, the ‘Megaferia de Empleo,’ closed registration on Thursday after reaching its capacity of 17,000 available positions, according to a statement from the city’s economic development agency. The event, scheduled for February 19, 2026, at Corferias, aims to connect job seekers with opportunities across a wide range of sectors.

The surge in registrations underscores the ongoing demand for employment in the Colombian capital. The fair will host more than 160 companies offering positions in services, commerce, industry, construction, health and transportation. The Bogotá government, through the District Secretariat of Economic Development (SDDE), is spearheading the initiative to boost job creation and inclusion, particularly for those facing barriers to employment.

Advanced Selection Processes at the Fair

This year’s ‘Megaferia de Empleo’ distinguishes itself by featuring advanced selection processes for 14 participating companies. These processes will include interviews, psychotechnical and technical tests, and, in some cases, background checks, streamlining the hiring process for both employers and candidates. The SDDE emphasized that successful applicants may be able to move directly to the final stages of the hiring process with the companies involved.

Focus on Inclusive Employment

A key focus of the fair is to promote inclusive employment practices. Organizers have highlighted that more than 1,000 vacancies are specifically designated for individuals over the age of 50. This initiative reflects a broader effort to address ageism in the workplace and provide opportunities for experienced workers. The fair aims to be a catalyst for connecting talent with available positions across the city’s diverse economic landscape.

Beyond the Fair: Additional Job Opportunities in Bogotá

While registration for the ‘Megaferia de Empleo’ is now closed, Bogotá residents still have access to numerous other job opportunities. According to MSN, positions offering salaries between 4 and 7 million Colombian pesos are currently available. MSN reports that these roles span various industries and skill levels.

Mobile Employment Fair Expanding Reach

The city is also extending its employment services through a mobile employment fair, running until February 21, 2026. Semana.com reports that the mobile fair offers on-site job registration and career guidance. Caracol Radio also notes that over 2,700 job vacancies are currently available in Bogotá.

The closure of registration for the ‘Megaferia de Empleo’ highlights the strong demand for employment opportunities in Bogotá. The city government’s ongoing initiatives, including the mobile fair and the promotion of inclusive hiring practices, demonstrate a commitment to connecting residents with meaningful work. The next update from the SDDE regarding the outcomes of the ‘Megaferia de Empleo’ is expected in early March 2026.
