Vijay (22) hails from Muthupillai Mandapam area of Nachiyarko police station near Kumbakonam in Thanjavur district. He has been working in a welding workshop. He has been married for the last 3 months. It is said that his wife was constantly teased by Ajith (22) from the same area.
His wife has complained to Vijay about this. Following this, Vijay is said to have reprimanded Ajith several times. But Ajith has been teasing. In this situation, Vijay along with his friend Divakar have asked Ajith about this. Then the dispute between the two is completely melee.
Divakar then cut Ajith’s head with a scythe which he had hidden, in which Ajith was seriously injured and Ajith’s father Rajagopalan (48) who came to prevent his son from being attacked fell. In which his left wrist was amputated. They were immediately rushed to Kumbakonam Government Hospital for first aid.

They were later rushed to Tanjore Government Medical College Hospital for further treatment. Police in Nakhchivan have registered a case and are actively searching for the fugitives Vijay and Divakar.
