The streaming landscape continues to shift, but one title remains a dominant force: Netflix’s Stranger Things. The series recaptured the No. 1 spot in Nielsen’s Top 10 Overall Streaming chart for the week of January 19, 2026, with a remarkable 1.66 billion viewing minutes. This resurgence in popularity comes after briefly ceding the top position the previous week, demonstrating the enduring appeal of the reveal as it nears its conclusion. Understanding these streaming ratings provides a snapshot of what’s capturing audiences’ attention in an increasingly crowded market.

The battle for streaming supremacy isn’t a one-horse race, however. Paramount+’s Landman closely trailed Stranger Things, reclaiming its No. 2 position with 1.615 billion minutes viewed. This indicates a strong performance for the series, which appears to be resonating with viewers. The competition highlights the growing importance of original content in attracting and retaining subscribers for streaming services. The data also reveals a trend toward viewers engaging with a diverse range of programming, from sci-fi thrillers to dramas based on real-world industries.

Beyond the Top Two: A Appear at the Rest of the Chart

The Nielsen chart for the week of January 19 showcased a strong showing for several platforms. Netflix continued to lead in overall representation, with six titles appearing on the list, two of which were shared with other services. Following Stranger Things and Landman, Netflix’s film The Rip secured the third spot with 1.378 billion viewing minutes. Starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, the crime thriller particularly resonated with the 35-64 age demographic, accounting for 57% of its total audience.

Netflix’s His & Hers, which previously held the top spot, slipped to fourth place with 1.371 billion minutes viewed. Like The Rip, this series also drew a significant portion of its viewership from the 35-64 age group, with 56% of its audience falling into that category. HBO Max’s The Pitt rounded out the top five, maintaining its position with 1.191 billion viewing minutes. Viewership of The Pitt was split fairly evenly between its second and first seasons, with 49% watching the newer episodes and 51% revisiting the original run.

The shared title The Closer, available on Netflix, Peacock, and Pluto TV, remained steady in seventh place with 911 million minutes viewed. Disney+’s animated series Bluey saw a boost in viewership, climbing two spots to reach 887 million minutes viewed, while Peacock’s The Traitors experienced a slight dip, sliding to ninth place with 865 million minutes viewed.
