The First-Minister inaugurated the artist’s All Village Integrated Agricultural Development Program with a video presentation at Tungavi near Madathukulam.
Agricultural Development Project
Tungavi Panchayat under Madathukulam Union has been selected in the artist’s All Village Integrated Agricultural Development Program. The project covers projects in the fields of Agriculture, Horticulture, Department of Agricultural Engineering, Department of Agribusiness, Marketing, Department of Seed Certification and Organic Certification, Department of Silk Development, Department of Animal Husbandry, Department of Rural Development, Department of Spirit and Fisheries, Department of Health, Co-operative Credit Union and Revenue. These are to be implemented in the current year in the village.
The inauguration ceremony was inaugurated by the First Minister of Tamil Nadu through a video presentation. Power sprayer, black gram seeds and coconut saplings worth Rs. 80,000 were distributed on behalf of the Department of Agriculture during the event held in Tungawi.
Fruit saplings
The Department of Horticulture provided natural inputs for the home vegetable garden, fruit saplings and other saplings for planting along the ridges. Harvest box and plastic tank were provided at a subsidy of Rs. 40,000 under the Farm Defect Removal Scheme. Tungavi Co-operative Credit Union disbursed loans of Rs. 10 lakhs and provided agricultural credit cards and assistance to 14 beneficiaries. Through the Rural Development Department, Rs. A work order worth Rs 60 lakh was also issued.
The function was attended by former MLA Jayaramakrishnan, Union Committee Chairman Kavia, Deputy Chairman Eeswarasamy Panchayat Council Chairman Umadevi Kaliswaran, Assistant Director of Agriculture Rajeswari, Assistant Director of Horticulture Divya, Regional Development Officer Ronaldo Shelton Fernandes and government officials.
