LOGAN, Utah – Utah State University gymnastics head coach Kristin White has secured her future with the Aggies, receiving a contract extension through the 2030 season, the university announced Tuesday. The extension recognizes White’s significant impact on the program in her four years at the helm, culminating in back-to-back Mountain West Conference championships and a trajectory of consistent improvement.
The timing of the announcement is particularly noteworthy, coming on the heels of a successful 2026 campaign that saw Utah State achieve at least a share of the Mountain West regular season championship – the program’s eighth conference title overall. This success builds upon the momentum of the 2025 season, where the Aggies claimed their first-ever Mountain West Championship. This marks the first time in Utah State gymnastics history that the team has secured conference titles in consecutive years.
“Kristin represents Utah State and our athletics department with pride and professionalism and exemplifies what it means to be an Aggie,” said Vice President and Director of Athletics Cameron Walker in a statement. “Her teams have consistently competed at the top of the conference, highlighted by two championships over the past two seasons. We are excited to continue supporting her vision for the gymnastics program and the positive influence she has as a leader in our department.”
Currently, the 2026 season is proving to be one of the most successful in program history. Utah State boasts a 14-4 overall record and a perfect 7-0 mark at home, marking their best start since 1999 and tying for the second-best in program history. With one home meet remaining, the Aggies have the opportunity to achieve only the fourth undefeated home season in the 49-year history of Utah State gymnastics. The team as well recorded a program third-highest score of 196.875 at Southern Utah this season.
White expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to continue leading the program, stating, “I am incredibly grateful to continue leading the gymnastics program at Utah State. When I arrived almost four years ago, I believed deeply in what this program could become, and I am thankful to Cam for trusting me with the opportunity to build something special here in Logan.” She emphasized the importance of her staff, student-athletes, and the supportive community in Cache Valley.
Building a Championship Culture
White’s tenure has been marked by a consistent rise in the program’s competitive level. In 2025, the Aggies not only won the Mountain West Championship but also advanced to NCAA Regionals as a team for the first time since 2022 and for the 28th time in program history. Five individual gymnasts also qualified for the second round of NCAA Regionals.
The 2025 season also saw Utah State gymnasts dominate the Mountain West awards landscape, combining for 26 weekly honors – the most of any program in the conference. Ten Aggies were named All-Mountain West, further demonstrating the depth of talent within the program. The team’s performance on bars and beam was particularly strong, averaging 48.982 on bars (second all-time in school history) and 48.934 on beam (fourth-best single-season average).
Academic Excellence Alongside Athletic Success
Beyond athletic achievements, White has fostered a culture of academic excellence within the program. A remarkable 38 gymnasts have earned the Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association Scholastic All-America Award under her leadership, including a program-record 15 student-athletes during the 2024-25 academic year. That year, USU finished eighth nationally with a program-best 3.78 grade point average. The team has consistently maintained a high GPA, posting a 3.59 in 2023-24 (47th nationally) and a 3.49 in 2022-23 (57th nationally).
This commitment to academics is further reflected in the 25 gymnasts who have earned Academic All-Mountain West honors and the 24 who have been recognized as MW Scholar-Athletes during White’s time as head coach.
Early Success and Continued Growth
Prior to the back-to-back championship seasons, White led Utah State to a second-place finish at the inaugural Mountain West Championships in 2024, held in Logan, Utah, achieving a season-high score of 196.500. Throughout her first three seasons, she has coached 12 gymnasts who have earned a combined 18 All-Mountain West honors. Brianna Brooks, the 2025 MW Championship MVP and Beam Specialist of the Year, has been a standout performer, twice being named the North Central Region Gymnast of the Year (2023, 2024). Six gymnasts have qualified for NCAA Regionals as individual competitors a total of eight times under White’s guidance.

With the contract extension secured, White and the Aggies will now focus on continuing their upward trajectory. The next key date for the program is the final home meet of the 2026 season, where they have the opportunity to complete an undefeated home record. The team will then turn its attention to the Mountain West Championships and a potential bid to the NCAA Regionals.
