Koscom CEO Joins Campaign to Eradicate Youth Gambling

Seoul, South Korea – Yoon Chang-hyun, president of Koscom, participated in the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s “Youth Gambling Prevention Relay Campaign” on March 18, 2026, the company announced. The initiative aims to raise awareness about the growing problem of illegal cyber gambling among young people and to foster a sense of social responsibility in addressing it.

The campaign comes as authorities express increasing concern over the accessibility of online gambling platforms to minors, and the associated risks of addiction, financial hardship, and potential criminal exploitation. Koscom’s involvement signals a broader effort within the financial investment sector to combat this issue. The campaign is being rolled out through a relay format, with leaders of major financial institutions taking turns to promote the message.

Yoon Chang-hyun was nominated by Bae Hyung-geun, president of Hyundai Securities, to participate in the campaign. He, in turn, has designated Lee Soon-ho, president of the Korea Depository Services Corporation, and Park Hyun-cheol, president of Bukook Securities, as the next participants, urging continued attention and engagement with the issue. News reports indicate that the campaign is gaining momentum within the financial investment industry.

Rising Concerns Over Youth Gambling

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency launched the campaign in response to a surge in illegal cyber gambling activity targeting young people. Authorities are particularly concerned about the ease with which minors can access these platforms, often through social media and online advertising. The campaign seeks to highlight the deceptive nature of these operations, emphasizing that they are designed to exploit vulnerable individuals. The Yonhap News Agency reported that the campaign aims to increase societal awareness of the dangers of youth gambling.

Koscom’s Commitment to Social Responsibility

Yoon Chang-hyun emphasized the need for a collective effort to protect young people from the risks associated with illegal gambling. “It is necessary for society as a whole to pay attention and make efforts to protect young people from the dangers of illegal gambling,” he stated, according to a press release. “Koscom will also fulfill various social responsibilities to ensure that young people can grow up in a safe environment.”

Koscom, a leading provider of financial technology solutions in South Korea, has increasingly focused on corporate social responsibility initiatives. The company’s participation in this campaign underscores its commitment to safeguarding the well-being of the next generation. The company’s involvement in the campaign is part of a broader trend of financial institutions taking a more active role in addressing social issues.

The relay campaign is expected to continue in the coming weeks, with leaders from other financial institutions joining the effort to raise awareness about the dangers of youth gambling. The next scheduled participation is from Lee Soon-ho and Park Hyun-cheol, whose involvement will further amplify the campaign’s message.

Authorities are urging parents, educators, and community leaders to be vigilant and to report any suspected illegal gambling activity targeting young people.
