Holder of a DEA in public policy economics, Jean-Marc Huart was academic delegate for professional training (2002-2006), then director of education (2006-2007) at the rectorate of Bordeaux. After a stint at the Ministry of Education in 2007, as technical adviser to Minister Xavier Darcos, he was appointed Inspector General at the start of 2009. The same year, he became Deputy Director of High Schools and Vocational Training at the General Directorate of school education (Dgesco), the same service which he will head in 2017.
