Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked issued an unusual clarification tonight (Tuesday), in which she claims, among other things, that the transfer of funds to the Finance Committee is part of the five-year plan approved by the government decision, and media reports are part of the “Pike News machine”.
She further claims that even in the previous government decision in 2015 in the Netanyahu government, these funds were distributed directly to the program authorities for their current budget without special control mechanisms.
According to her, unlike the five-year plan in the Netanyahu government and in order to handle it responsibly, in the current plan, in order to reduce crime and violence in the Arab authorities, after receiving intelligence that crime families win some tenders, determined in a special team, headed by Interior Ministry director. NIS 232 million to the Ministry of Welfare – Budgeting a total of NIS 165 million for the implementation of government decisions, including the implementation of coalition agreements, out-of-home care to strengthen the responses provided to learning disabilities within the National Program for Children and Youth at Risk, community care that addresses youth and young people at risk. Disabilities, for the treatment of domestic violence, for social assistance for victims of sexual assault, for the renovation and addition of beds in the Tlalim shelter for youth protection, for the construction of Beit Noam for inclusive activities, and a budget of NIS 5 million for the construction of a memorial hall for victims of hostilities. The application also includes NIS 67 million with the permission to commit to the construction of welfare buildings.
NIS 684 million to local authorities – Budgeting a total of NIS 510 million in expenditure and a total of NIS 174 million in authorization to undertake the implementation of government decisions for minorities, the implementation of coalition agreements and the budgeting of the capital grant. Among other things, for security grants to local authorities in the Judea and Samaria area, to the Hebron Local Committee and a security grant to regional councils. Also, for current grants to local authorities for the purpose of strengthening the budget of Arab, Druze authorities, the capital grant, grants to large localities, treatment of beaches, the development of the Jerusalem Municipality and the Union of Kinneret Cities.
