Regular celebrations
We were married in 2000 in Mookambika. Sreekuttan’s first birthday together was at our house in Thiruvananthapuram. There were no big celebrations. We lived together for 14 years before we got married. Even then the birthday celebrations were held very simply. Most of the time I travel and I have had the opportunity to celebrate birthdays many times in different countries like Australia and London. At that time, all the friends would organize celebrations as Sreekuttan. Apart from celebrating with friends, Sreekuttan and I are the only ones who love celebrating birthdays together the most. The festivities have not stopped yet because they are always together. It is seen as a blessing from God. ണിThe boat we are rowing together is moving forward.
Birthday sweet
I always like to give to Sreekuttan. He would like to prepare something for his birthday but in a small way. There are no restrictions. If there is a birthday party in Kerala, I prepare a small meal. Although the curries are prepared as usual, it has a special sweetness. Sreekuttan loves milk sauce a lot. I will give that too for my birthday. Then they go to the temple and offer sacrifices. The Guruvayur temple is famous for its scales. This is how birthday celebrations are usually held.

This time the birthday is in Guruvayur. Guruvayur is my favorite place for Sreekuttan and me. After bathing in the temple, we stay in the temple premises till night. He is the one who eats. Come back tomorrow. Sreekuttan’s birth star is on the 26th. Return from Guruvayur only after praying in the stable.
My birthday
It is imperative for me to celebrate my birthday at least in a small way. It’s still the same. Sreekuttan and I do not give each other any surprises. He knows what I want. Or I just tell them what I need. And he will be able to do that.
The mantra of life!
The chemistry between us is that we understand each other and live. Not only us, but all husbands and wives seem to follow this. Even if we understand each other and live without ego, the relationship will continue without any problems. That’s what we do. It is common for both of us to put aside topics we do not like to talk about. They do not force each other on anything. I’m especially careful not to embarrass him by saying anything. Sreekuttan should always be happy. Otherwise he can sing even more songs. We still have to listen to his many sweet songs, as if to say that what is heard is sweet and what is not heard is very sweet. Malayalees all over the world want it. It is my duty to look after him without any difficulty. I try my best for that. Sreekuttan has not had a manager in a long time. I look at all of his things. I do my duty as a wife to the fullest. If I need to work as his manager too, I will do that too. From time to time I walk around with little things like eating or drinking water and remind myself to do exactly that.
Criticisms vary
We have faced a lot of criticism. It’s just that there are two types before and after marriage. In the early days, many people asked Sreekutta why he always took his wife with him. There was a lot of criticism against us. But then I replied, ‘I got married to walk with him.’ All such questions were asked many years ago. Now no one asks that. Nowadays, many artisans take their wives with them on trips. Therefore, that question is irrelevant today.
Travel love
We have very few places left to visit. Both love to go to all countries. Yet America has always been our favorite place. There are a lot of relatives and friends there. My daughter is in America too. That is why America has always been our favorite country. After a long hiatus given by Kovid, next month we are going back to the US. I’m going first. Sreekuttan will also be there after the workload is reduced. We are both very excited about the trip. He traveled abroad two or three times a year. When Kovid came, everything stopped. After the break, I’m looking forward to this upcoming American trip.
What is life without love?
It is said that ‘Love before marriage, life after marriage’. Not that there is no love after marriage, but it will be different than before. Of course when in love everyone will only show off their good aspects. Despite the differences in married life, the love between us has always remained the same. There must always be love in the mind. Love is not a bad thing. Want to fall in love after marriage? Wasn’t it love time before that? I have heard a lot of people ask. But if the marriage is to continue, there must be a strong love affair. Life is strong only when there is love. Sreekuttan and I expect nothing but love from each other. We have an intense love for each other. I see all this as God-ordained. I had no romantic relationships in my teens or college. Sreekuttan is the only man I have ever loved so much in my life. I have told him that many times. We have always been in love. I believe that there is no life without love. Ours is not just a fantasy romance. He sees life as life itself. There will be ups and downs, there will be difficulties. We often get into fights. None of this, however, will last more than 5 minutes. Sometimes it disappears in 5 seconds. I was with Sreekuttan at every stage of his musical development. We have a small studio at home. He’s always singing for me to hear. She sings every day for recording and so on. Sreekuttan also participates in household chores. But the truth is that often there is no time for that. And we’ve been home since Kovid started. He would always help me with household chores. Sreekuttan cooks only occasionally. He does all the work as a householder. He takes care of everything for me from the beginning to the end of each day.
Taste at home
I’m not that big of a cook. It makes everything essential. Sreekuttan loves everything I cook. Maybe he likes my food as much as he likes me. Making food at home is not a bad thing at all. I am very happy to see Sreekuttan enjoying the food I make. I prefer vegetarian food. But meat dishes are also cooked. And Sreekuttan has no dietary restrictions.
Singing time
At home there is always talk of song. But what do we have to say to each other? Always the music. Whatever else is said, it will eventually get to the music itself. Sreekuttan stays at home for a very short time. At that time, our talk was about the song. Then while in the studio he would play many songs for me.
