The first shipment of the Tesla Y electric crossover landed in Israel

by time news

The first shipment of the Tesla Y electric crossover landed in Israel this week ahead of the start of customer service in the coming days. Unlike all previous shipments that arrived in Israel from the United States and especially from China, the current shipment came from Tesla’s new plant inaugurated in March near Berlin. The plant currently operates at a relatively low capacity, as part of the running process, and as far as is known, the Israeli shipment is the first of the plant to be exported outside Europe.

The main version in the delivery is the performance version Y PERFORMANCE, which offers a range of up to 514 km and is capable of accelerating from zero to 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds.

The cars, currently manufactured in Europe, come with only five seats while the American version offers an option for seven seats. The price of this version in Israel starts at about NIS 363,000 before special options. An LR version will also arrive later, starting at NIS 331,000.

At the same time, the very long waiting times for the Tesla 3 in the base version, which costs about NIS 225,000, continue. The estimated delivery date for new customers of the car is between April and June 2023, i.e. around a year of waiting. This is partly due to the ongoing delay in returning to production of the Tesla plant in China, which supplies Israel with the 3 models, after the corona closures.

As of today, Tesla is also starting to charge for charging at its “supercharger” stations around the country. The payment is about NIS 1.25 per kilowatt-hour, or about NIS 75-90 for a full charge, depending on the version.
