The distributor Activision has released a video that provides new information about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the next game in the popular series, and these details come even earlier than expected.
The video, which is about a minute long, reveals the game cover and as can be seen this year the character of Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley is in the front, and next to him are revealed additional characters from Task Force 141. Players are expected to play again alongside well-known characters from the series such as: Captain John Pierce, C ‘Van’ Swap ‘from Katowice and Kyle’ Gas’ Garrick, but there is also a new character – Colonel Alexandro Vargas, a special agent of the Special Forces of Mexico .;
The addition of Colonel Vargas alongside the decorations on the characters’ faces could point to Mexico as the area where the plot of CoD: Modern Warfare 2 will take place – and this time the task force will probably fight the drug cartel.
Near the release of the video, more details were leaked about the game. Twitter account CharlieIntel@ Reveals that the game will come in 3 editions: Standard Edition, Cross Gen Bundle and Vault Edition, with the latter being the most expensive of all and it will include additions of virtual goods to the game and Battle Royale mode like 50 levels, special costumes, weapons, early express access and more.
The video ends with the unveiling of the game’s release date, October 28, 2022, when the first beta of the title will be launched earlier this month in which PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 console players will first be able to experience it.
