The blast took place while Sreekumar was eating at a Malayalee-owned food care restaurant in the building on Monday. Two were killed and at least 120 were injured, including 106 Indians. The restaurant was completely destroyed. Most of the injured are Malayalees. Fifty-six people being treated in hospitals are critically injured. The Indian embassy said some were in the intensive care unit and were being treated.
Two Keralites and a Pakistani national were killed. Sreekumar, who was previously abroad, was running a hotel in Karaikkad after returning home.
