Wednesday 25 May – on Rai 1 in prime time – Pierfrancesco Favino take on the role of the repentant of Cosa Nostra Tommaso Buscetta in the film Il traitor by Marco Bellocchio. This is just one of the many roles played in his career by the Roman actor, nicknamed-by friends and family- Woodpecker. My father gave me this nickname, I think because I was never standing still. Picchio is more familiar to me than Pierfrancesco. I would have liked to keep it at work, but imagine a poster: Hamlet, with Picchio Favino. No, it just doesn’t fit, Favino explained to the weekly Grazia in 2012. And this is not the only curiosity about him.
