Mecca | Prior to this year’s Hajj, four categories were granted exemption after tightening restrictions on entry into Makkah without a permit. This was announced by the Ministry of Passports.
Hajj / Umrah permit holders outside Makkah, those with a residence permit or employment contract in Makkah, and those licensed to work in Makkah during the Hajj season are exempted from the restrictions. Checks have been tightened at all checkpoints to prevent unauthorized entry into Makkah.
