The intersection of pop culture and dining has found a new, high-energy expression in Hong Kong as Sushiro announces a comprehensive collaboration with the legendary anime series JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders. Starting April 14, the conveyor-belt sushi chain will integrate the flamboyant aesthetic and narrative themes of the series into its menus and store environments, offering a curated experience for both culinary enthusiasts and dedicated collectors.
This partnership is more than a simple branding exercise; it is a multi-layered event that spans the entire chain’s footprint while concentrating the most immersive elements in three designated “theme stores.” From limited-edition sushi inspired by the series’ iconic journey to Egypt to a complex merchandise redemption system, the collaboration aims to translate the visual intensity of Hirohiko Araki’s work into a tangible dining experience.
A Menu Inspired by the Stardust Crusade
The collaboration menu focuses on the “Stardust Crusaders” arc, characterized by the protagonists’ arduous journey across the scorching deserts of Egypt. To mirror this atmosphere, Sushiro is introducing Long-fin Tuna options available in two variations: a spicy tuna paste pairing and a standard tuna paste pairing, both designed to evoke the heat and intensity of the desert expedition.

Further leaning into character-driven design, the menu features an Eel Futomaki roll inspired by the attire of the series’ central protagonist, Jotaro Kujo. Complementing these dishes is a surprise “collaboration drink set,” adding a beverage component to the themed meal. These items will be available across all Sushiro branches starting April 14.
Immersive Hubs: The Themed Store Experience
While the menu is available city-wide, Sushiro has transformed three specific locations into fully immersive JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure hubs. These stores are designed to transport diners into the world of the anime, featuring large-scale “photo walls” depicting the Egyptian desert, character standees, and themed table decorations.
The three designated theme stores are:
- Tsim Sha Tsui: Hart Manor Avenue branch
- Tseung Kwan O: Plaza branch
- Tsuen Wan: Green Plaza branch
These locations serve as the primary destination for fans looking to engage with the series’ visual style, providing an environment where the dining experience is secondary to the opportunity for photography and character interaction.
The Collector’s Challenge: Merchandise and Badges
Sushiro has implemented a tiered reward system to incentivize repeat visits and higher spending. For diners who order collaboration-specific food items, a random piece of merchandise—such as stickers, decorative plates, or color-changing cups—is provided with the meal.
For more serious collectors, a separate “add-on” purchase option is available from April 14 to May 18. Customers who spend $200 or more (via dine-in or takeaway) can purchase three specific limited-edition items at a discounted price. The quantity of these add-ons scales with spending: $200 allows for two of each item, while $400 allows for four, and so on. These offers are not applicable to orders placed through external delivery platforms.
The most coveted item is the “JoJo Limited Transformation Badge.” To acquire one, diners must complete a multi-step process: order the Eel Futomaki roll multiple times to collect five different collaboration stickers, and follow Sushiro Hong Kong on Facebook or Instagram. These badges feature a unique visual effect where the character’s “Stand”—the supernatural manifestation central to the series—appears when the badge is tilted.
The badge release is split into two distinct waves to encourage sustained engagement:
- Wave One: Features Jotaro Kujo, Noriaki Kakyoin, Joseph Joestar, and Mohammed Avdol.
- Wave Two: Features Jean Pierre Polnareff, Iggy, and DIO.
As the event progresses toward the May 18 deadline for add-on merchandise, fans are expected to converge on the themed hubs to complete their collections. The success of this collaboration reflects a broader trend of “experience dining,” where the meal serves as an entry point into a wider cultural fandom.
For the latest updates on merchandise availability and store capacity, customers are encouraged to monitor Sushiro Hong Kong’s official social media channels.
