Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has slammed the Shebaz Sharif government for condemning the rise in petrol and diesel prices, saying the country was facing “huge inflation” due to a fraudulent gang ruling Pakistan.

The Pakistani government on Thursday hiked the price of petroleum products by Rs 30 per liter. Following the hike, petrol is being priced at Rs 179.85, diesel at Rs 174.15 and kerosene at Rs 155.95. Thus people are still struggling.

In this context, the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shebaz said, “We have raised the price of petroleum with a heavy heart. Such a decision has to be made in this difficult economic situation. This is because the price of petroleum in the world market has risen incredibly.

The Imran Khan government signed an agreement with the International Monetary Fund. We are not. You have accepted the difficult conditions of the International Monetary Fund, not us. You are currently pushing the country into an economic mess. The previous government had destroyed the country. Measures to raise fuel prices are necessary to prevent Pakistan from going bankrupt. Imran Khan’s regime is responsible for the huge rise in fuel prices. But we accepted the demand of the people and turned it into a corrupt government. The new government faces enormous economic and political challenges. ”
