So far 189 teams have registered in the Open Division and 154 in the Women’s Division at the Chess Olympiad.
The Chess Olympiad, the largest chess festival in the world, will be held in Mamallapuram from July 28 to August 10.
For the first time in India, 189 teams have registered for the Open and 154 for the Women’s. This is the highest record in the history of the Chess Olympiad. Also in attendance is star player and world champion Magnus Coulson.
Director of the competition Bharath Chauhan said that FIDE, AICF and the Tamil Nadu government are actively making arrangements for the competition.
