They are already known from services such as Facebook or programs such as Teams and Slack: reactions that allow messages to be commented on quickly and easily with an emoji. This will soon also be possible with WhatsApp. BILD knows the details.

The news service WABetaInfo, which specializes in WhatsApp, reports that the so-called reactions are currently being developed at WhatsApp and can already be seen in advance versions of the messenger. As is common with other messengers and chat programs, you should be able to mark individual messages with an emoji in WhatsApp.
The advantage over a smiley face in a separate message (as they have often been sent so far): WhatsApp collects and counts the reactions, displays them in a small bubble directly under the speech bubble of a message – great for group chats. The smileys can be clearly assigned to individual texts. On Twitter, WABetaInfo shows in advance what it will look like.
As usual with WhatsApp, the reactions are transmitted completely encrypted. Users can freely choose from all emojis how they want to react. If desired, several reactions can be selected for a text. If you later tap on the small smiley bubble, it will show who reacted with which emoji.
New speech bubbles
In addition to the reactions, WhatsApp will probably also introduce a new design for the speech bubbles. WABetaInfo shows how the chats with the slightly rounder borders should look in the future (iPhone above, Android below – the old version on the left, the new version on the right).
Both functions can currently be seen in beta versions of WhatsApp. The smiley reactions should be available with one of the next updates on iPhone and Android. It is even less clear at the moment when the new speech bubble designs will come. WhatsApp could also just use the beta version of its program to test the new look.
