Police have arrested a woman who killed her husband and buried him in a banana grove near Naduveerapattu in Cuddalore district.

Rajasekar (47) alias K. Iyer, a farmer, was a resident of S. Pudukkuppam village next to Naduveera. He was married to his sister’s daughter Vijayalakshmi (40) 18 years ago. They have one son and one daughter. Rajasekar often fights and goes abroad. In this case, the person who left the house 9 months ago did not return home. So, after months of not knowing information about Rajasekar, Vijayalashmi’s brother Sivakumar inquired. Vijayalashmi said that Rajasekara was killed then and put in a banana plantation.

Aware of this, Panruti Deputy Superintendent of Goods Sabiullah and Nellikuppam Police Inspector Asokan accompanied the Revenue Department and visited the banana plantation. Later, Vijayalakshmi was taken away and interrogated. At that time, her husband Rajasekar would often fight and go abroad. In this case, he came in contact with Mohan from the same area. This was condemned by her husband Rajasekar. During the trouble that happened 9 months ago, Mohan and I killed Rajasekara and buried his body in his banana grove. He said that his brother Sivakumar had told the truth as he had often heard about Rajasekar’s magic.

Following this, following a complaint lodged by Rajasekar’s brother K. Ramasamy (64), the police have registered a case and arrested Vijayalakshmi today and are conducting an investigation. Also, tomorrow (Monday) Rajasekar’s body is to be exhumed and autopsied. Police are searching for Mohan, who is in hiding in the case.
