The Ministry of Transportation continues with the public transportation reform in Israel!

Today (Tuesday 24.5), Minister Meirav Michaeli launched Israel’s largest transportation survey. This is a survey in which all residents of Israel are invited to take part and influence the activity of public transportation in the country. The purpose of the survey is to examine the mobility habits of the residents (car / public transportation, shared travel, etc.), to hear their opinions on public transportation in Israel, optimization proposals and more.

The Ministry of Transportation’s major transportation survey “The Way to Influence” was launched today (Tuesday) at the bus terminal in Savidor led by the Minister of Transportation and Road Safety, MK Merav Michaeli, and with the participation of the (acting) director of the National Public Transportation Authority, Ran Shadmi and women and professionals from the Ministry of Transportation.

The Ministry of Transportation and Road Safety invites the public in Israel to participate in a national transport survey, in order to assist in the development processes of transportation in Israel, while involving the public in the decision-making processes and construction of the ministry’s future work plans.

The survey is intended to examine the public’s attitudes regarding public transportation in Israel, and to gather up-to-date information that will be used for transportation planning in Israel and for its future development. The survey will be conducted, among other things, by dozens of male and female surveyors who will fill out the surveys among passengers and passengers on public transportation in major centers around the country.

At the same time, the survey will be published on the website: https://8787.org.il/ and will be accompanied by an information campaign, on radio and digital. The survey can be participated in anonymously, by answering a short questionnaire or by participating in in-depth discussions with focus groups.

The survey will be open to the public for three weeks, from today (24/05/2022), until 14 June. Upon closing the survey, all the data will be processed into key recommendations, which will be used by the Ministry for programs to improve public transportation in Israel, and will be distributed to all respondents who left contact information.

Among the questions in the survey: what is your main use of transportation (car, bus, train), what is the frequency of use of public transportation, are you in favor of allocating public transportation routes / bicycle paths instead of travel routes on roads and more.

Participation in the survey will be open from 24.05 to 14.06 (17 Sivan until 23 Iyar)
