A few days ago, the Russian government stated, according to the ‘Tass’ agency, that it was using laser weapons in Ukraine. Now him Pentagon of the United States says that there is no evidence that the Kremlin army is actually using these systems.

“We have no indication of the use of lasers, at least weaponized lasers, in Ukraine. Nothing to confirm on that,” Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said at a press conference picked up by several US media.

Last week, Yury Borisov, Russia’s deputy prime minister in charge of military development, said that Moscow had developed a new generation of laser weapons aimed at burning their targets. The system is called Zadira, and would have been used mainly to shoot down Ukrainian drones.

It should be remembered that this type of device is very important during the invasion, especially when carrying out reconnaissance tasks.

According to the information from ‘Tass’, Zadira would be able to destroy targets located 5 kilometers away. The use of this weaponry during the invasion, about which little is known beyond the fact that it apparently began to be developed in 2017, was recently described by the president of Ukraine, Volodímir ZelenskiLike Russian propaganda.

“The clearer it becomes that they have no chance in war, the more propaganda they make about an incredible weapon that would be powerful enough to ensure a turning point,” the invaded country’s president said at a conference last week.

Since the beginning of the war, both Russia and Ukraine have shared “information” that, in the end, has turned out to be untrue, as several communication and social media experts explained to ABC a few weeks ago. In the case of Ukraine, we find the case of the Phantom of kyiv, an alleged aviator of the Ukrainian Army of whom images that had come out of a video game were shared.

Meanwhile, the United States has shared that the Putin-ruled country is having problems building weapons due to component shortages caused by international sanctions. This has caused its army to resort to the use of commercial drones – something that Ukraine also does – and has been using components from household appliances in part of its weapons.
