Beijing: 10 Pacific countries do not ratify China’s comprehensive regional security agreement. This is a major setback for China. China’s promise is to radically increase its presence in the South Pacific by directly challenging the influence of the United States and other allies in the South Pacific.

Under the agreement, China will train Pacific police and engage in cyber security. Expand political affiliation, conduct sensitive marine mapping, and explore land and water resources

China will have more access. In return, China is offering millions of dollars in financial assistance.

However, Pacific leaders did not fully believe in the treaty.

In a letter to fellow leaders, David Panulo, president of the Federated States of Micronesia, said the agreement would bring Chinese influence to the government and give it economic control over key industries.
