Extensive testing continues; Several expatriates were arrested
Kuwait City: Extensive searches are being carried out in various parts of Kuwait to find illegal immigrants. Last day, 13 expatriates were arrested by the Residency Affairs Department under the Kuwaiti Interior Ministry. The arrest was made during a search of the Farwaniya governorate yesterday.

According to local media reports, the detainees include expatriates from different countries. It has been handed over to the concerned departments for taking legal action against them. Various departments in Kuwait are conducting extensive inspections across the country to find those working in the country and those violating the residence law in violation of labor laws. Thousands of expatriates were arrested and deported as part of this.

During the Kovid crisis, illegal immigrants were earlier given the opportunity to correct documents. But very few people used this facility then. Inspections were halted at the time due to the ban on air services and the Kovid crisis. But later, as the Kovid crisis eased and air services resumed, extensive inspections began. At present, inspections are being carried out in all the governorates of the country in collaboration with various departments.
