The UK Health Safety Agency (UKHSA) reported 71 new cases of the monkeypox virus in England on Monday (May 30, 2022), bringing the number of confirmed infections in the United Kingdom to 179 since early May. He issued a guideline to control the spread of the virus, saying that people infected with monkeypox could be isolated at home if they recovered enough and that steps would be taken to limit close contact with others.

“As community transmission is now underway in the UK and other countries, the guideline sets new guidelines for healthcare professionals and the general public to control and prevent further transmission of the disease,” the UKHSA said.
