French Open tennis: Cilic beats Medvedev

PARIS: Marin Cilic advanced to the quarterfinals of the French Open Grand Slam tennis men’s singles division after beating Danil Medvedev in straight sets in the 4th round. Russia’s Daniel Medvedev, ranked 2nd in the ATP rankings, and Marin Cilic, a young player ranked 20th in Croatia, clashed in the match yesterday at midnight Indian time. Cilic won the first set 6-2, beating the next 2 sets 6-3, 6-2 at the same pace, beating Medvedev in straight sets.
