Mercato: Aurélien Tchouaméni goes straight to Real Madrid

by time news

PSG had made him a priority to strengthen their midfield, but Aurélien Tchouaméni should turn his back on the capital club to continue his career at Real Madrid next season. After several weeks of discussions, an agreement is now very close between the Spanish club and AS Monaco for the transfer of the French international currently at Clairefontaine to prepare for the four Nations League matches of the Blues against Denmark, this Friday, then in Croatia (June 6), Austria (June 10), and again against Croatia (June 13).

The operation should be completed in the next few hours, according to a source familiar with the matter. Maybe even as early as Wednesday. Once the final details have been settled between the two clubs, Aurélien Tchouaméni will sign his long-term contract with Real Madrid remotely for a transfer fee of up to 100 million euros including bonus.

For several days, the 22-year-old player (8 caps, 1 goal) had privately expressed his preference for Real while Paris, but also Liverpool, had entered the ranks. Unless the situation turns around, he should come to flesh out an already rich midfielder in the Spanish capital with Casemiro, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Federico Valverde or even the Frenchman Eduardo Camavinga who have all just distinguished themselves by winning the 14th Champions League from the Madrid team.

Convinced that the player had his mind at Real Madrid, PSG have made up their minds since the end of last weekend. The Parisian club did not want to go into overbidding, especially for the transfer price. This may be a first sign of a change in politics in Paris where in recent years glitz has never been an issue.

In Paris, Luis Campos, the future decision-maker with the first team, is already working on other, less expensive midfielders. Despite the immense qualities of Aurélien Tchouaméni, the next sports director pointed to similar profiles, probably foreign, which he thinks can be transposed to PSG. As well as at least two midfielders, the club are targeting a centre-back and a versatile striker this summer in the transfer market.
