Jakarta recorded Rp173.6 trillion in investment realization during the first semester of 2026, capturing 17.2 percent of the national total and outperforming all other provinces.
According to official figures released by the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming—also known as the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) RI—the total capital inflow combines both domestic and foreign funding sources.
Heru Hermawanto, Head of the Jakarta Investment and Integrated One-Stop Services (DPMPTSP) Province of DKI Jakarta, said this achievement positions Jakarta as the province with the highest realized investment in Indonesia for the first half of the year. Heru stated that the steadily increasing investor trust is the result of synergy among various parties in creating a conducive business climate, supported by the DKI Provincial Government’s policy direction that places ease of investment and public services as development priorities.
South Jakarta Leads Regional Capital Inflows
Investment distribution across the capital’s regions showed pronounced geographic variation during the opening half of the year. South Jakarta emerged as the region with the highest realized investment, amounting to Rp62.7 trillion.
Following South Jakarta, the next highest investment realization was recorded in Central Jakarta (Rp49.9 trillion), North Jakarta (Rp23.1 trillion), West Jakarta (Rp20.6 trillion), and East Jakarta (Rp17.1 trillion). Meanwhile, the Seribu Islands recorded realized investments of Rp289 billion.
Services and Infrastructure Drive Sector Contributions
Sector breakdowns reveal an economy heavily reliant on urban connectivity and professional services. The transportation, warehouse, and telecom sector was the largest contributor, accounting for Rp54.3 trillion, or 31 percent of Jakarta’s total investment.
The “other services” sector attracted Rp43.6 trillion (25 percent), followed by the trade and repair sector at 16 percent, specifically securing Rp28.4 trillion. Investments in the housing, industrial estate, and office sectors reached Rp14 trillion. The construction sector recorded Rp12.9 trillion, while other sectors cumulatively contributed Rp20.3 trillion.
This composition indicates that investment in Jakarta continues to rely on the services sector and urban connectivity, aligning with the agenda to transform Jakarta into a global city.
City Officials Point to Regulatory Streamlining and Project Readiness
This achievement demonstrates that Jakarta remains a prime investment destination in Indonesia,
he said in a press release on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
DPMPTSP Province of DKI Jakarta continues to carry out various efforts to maintain its position as the largest investment destination region in Indonesia. These steps include optimizing the Public Service Mall (MPP), accelerating the digitalization of licensing and non-licensing services, providing mobile “jemput bola” services directly to business actors, and strengthening integrated investment assistance.
Additionally, Jakarta DPMPTSP is also strengthening data-based investment promotion strategies through the preparation of investment potential maps as well as the development of Investment Project Ready to Offer (IPRO) projects that are ready to be offered to investors.
“Kami memastikan peluang investasi yang ditawarkan telah memiliki kesiapan dari sisi teknis, finansial, maupun pasar. Dengan demikian, investor memperoleh kepastian yang lebih baik dalam mengambil keputusan investasi di Jakarta,”
Heru Hermawanto, Head of DPMPTSP Province of DKI Jakarta
