Officials in Leningrad Oblast confirmed that a drone attack on the port of Ust-Luga sparked a fire, with Governor Alexander Drozdenko reporting 51 drones shot down during the assault. The incident occurred amid broader Russian air defense operations, as Moscow claimed to have downed 553 Ukrainian drones across 18 regions and Crimea, according to a military statement.
Fire at Ust-Luga Port After Drone Attack
The port of Ust-Luga, a major Baltic Sea hub and one of Russia’s largest, caught fire following the attack, according to Drozdenko. Ust-Luga is the second-largest port in Russia and among the top five in Europe, according to Source 2.
In Tver Oblast, a Wildberries warehouse suffered wall damage after a drone strike, though no injuries were reported, per interim regional head Vitaly Korolev. In Bashkortostan, a fire broke out in an industrial zone of Salavat after the drone attack, according to regional leader Radiy Khabirov. The fire occurred at a Wildberries facility, as the company stated in a separate report.
In Sevastopol, power outages were reported after an attack on energy infrastructure, according to Source 1.
NATO Intercepts Drone in Latvia
Amid the Russian drone offensive, a drone entered Latvian airspace and was intercepted by NATO fighters, according to the Latvian military.
Meanwhile, Moscow’s air defense systems reportedly neutralized over 10 drones targeting the capital, as Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin stated.

Source 2 also notes that the Leningrad Oblast governor initially reported 51 drones shot down, later updating to 54. The Ministry of Defense’s claim of 553 drones shot down across 18 regions and Crimea includes all incidents, according to the military statement.
At the Petersburg Pulkovo Airport, operations continued with delays, according to Source 3. The airport’s status was reported as functioning “by agreement,” with some flights experiencing disruptions. No casualties were reported in the port fire or other incidents, as confirmed by local authorities.
