The incident, which took place at the high-end steakhouse located in the 9600 block of Wilshire Boulevard, was captured on video and subsequently viewed millions of times across social media platforms.
The Origin of the Dispute
Two women involved in the altercation recently provided an account of the events leading up to the fight. They stated that the evening began when one of them struck up a conversation with men at a nearby table who were speaking Arabic. According to the women, one of the men later offered to pay for their bill.
The women claimed that another woman approached the table while the man was making the offer and sat on his lap. When the group of men prepared to depart, one requested that the women ask the individual on his friend’s lap to move. The women reported that after they passed along this request, they were met with a physical response, alleging that the other woman approached them from behind, pulling their hair and swinging. The women stated that they returned punches, claiming the other participant was “socked” several times.
Escalation in the Dining Room
The confrontation spilled across the restaurant floor as diners watched and employees attempted to intervene. Footage shows the two women trading punches, kicks, and hair pulls while rolling across the dining room. At one stage of the fight, the woman in a brown dress fell to the floor while the woman in a blue top leaned over her. During the struggle, items on nearby tables were knocked over.
