New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday addressed a gathering of medalists at the Women’s World Boxing Championships. Gold medalists Nikhat Zareen, bronze medalists Manisha Moun and Parveen Hooda spoke directly to Modi.

Modi tweeted that he was happy to see the medalists at the World Women’s Boxing Championships. He also mentioned that we talked about the journey of life towards sports. He ended his tweet by congratulating us on our future plans.

India’s Nikhat won gold at the World Boxing Women’s Championships in Turkey on the 19th of last month, beating Thailand’s Jutmas Jitpong. Sareen won the gold with a clear dominance over the Thai rival. Sareen became only the fifth Indian woman to win a medal at the World Boxing Championships.
