Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day has surpassed James Cameron’s Titanic with a worldwide gross beyond USD 2.3 billion, claiming the No. 4 spot on the all-time global box office rankings following a powerful fourth weekend.
Global Box Office Milestones and the Climb Past Titanic
The superhero blockbuster directed by Destin Daniel Cretton crossed the USD 2.3 billion threshold globally on August 28, driven by an international haul of USD 109 million and a domestic contribution of USD 39 million during its fourth weekend in theaters, according to reports. That momentum officially sank James Cameron’s 1997 romantic epic Titanic, which finished its historic theatrical run with a worldwide gross of approximately USD 2.2 billion.
The milestone places the Sony and Marvel Studios production behind only Avatar: The Way of Water at USD 2.33 billion, Avengers: Endgame at USD 2.79 billion, and the original Avatar at USD 2.92 billion on the all-time worldwide charts. Domestically, the film climbed to No. 2 on the all-time list with USD 891 million after adding another USD 22 million during its fifth consecutive weekend at the top of the charts, trailing only Star Wars: The Force Awakens at USD 936 million.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day recorded a significant slowdown in India on its third Monday, following a strong third Sunday for the Tom Holland-led Marvel superhero film. As of the latest live figures, the film has collected ₹1.50 crore net in India on Day 19, with 2,917 shows recording 32.5% occupancy. The drop comes after the film collected ₹9.50 crore net on its third Sunday from 3,063 shows, when occupancy reached 67.9%. The latest figures take Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s India net collection to ₹468.55 crore, while its gross collection stands at ₹560.20 crore. The final figures for Day 19 are yet to be reported, meaning the Monday total could change once the remaining collections are added. The language-wise breakdown shows that the English version has contributed ₹0.80 crore in live net collections from 1,330 shows, recording 17% occupancy. The Hindi version has collected ₹0.61 crore from 1,468 shows at 47% occupancy, while the Tamil version has contributed ₹0.09 crore from 119 shows at 27% occupancy.
Domestic Records and International Chases
With Titanic now behind it, the film has its sights on Ne Zha 2, the 2025 Chinese animated blockbuster that currently sits ahead of it with a worldwide gross of approximately USD 2.2 billion. The gap between the two films is reportedly around USD 50 million. The feature achieved its initial USD 2 billion milestone in 17 days, making it the second-fastest film in box office history to reach that mark behind Avengers: Endgame, which accomplished the feat in 11 days. According to the studio, the film collected USD 785 million in North America and USD 1.23 billion internationally by its third weekend, taking its worldwide gross to USD 2.022 billion. The title also stands as the highest-grossing installment in the Spider-Man franchise, surpassing 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.

India Box Office Performance and Sustained Occupancy
In India, the film has sustained an extraordinary theatrical run after arriving in cinemas a day ahead of its global release on July 30, 2026, according to Bollywood Hungama’s box office data. Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, and Jacob Batalon starrer Spider-Man: Brand New Day has completed one month in theaters, and Destin Daniel Cretton’s directorial has delivered a historic run and is inches away from its last milestone in India. According to estimates, Spider-Man: Brand New Day collected 1.16 crore across all versions on day 30. The screen count has reduced due to the dominating entry of Yash’s Toxic, but there’s visibly ample interest for the Marvel superhero flick. It saw an impressive 137% jump in the last 24 hours, making the most of the Rakshabandhan holiday nationwide, and the total India net collection now stands at 493.1 crore after 30 days. Including taxes, the gross earnings currently stand at 581.86 crore. The revised box office breakdown in India in all versions (net collection) records Week 1 at 336 crore (8 days), Week 2 at 111.78 crore, Week 3 at 31.70 crore, Week 4 at 12.46 crore, and Day 30 at 1.16 crore. Spider-Man: Brand New Day now needs less than 7 crore to hit the 500 crore milestone in India. Although there’s increased competition from Toxic, Awarapan 2, Hanuman Ansh and other releases, the fifth weekend boost can very well help Tom Holland’s film get closer to that milestone, having previously accumulated Rs. 480.78 crore earlier in its run and grossed Rs 538 crore with a third weekend addition of Rs 28.7 crore in the country. Released in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada in the country, the film saw Day 22 collections reach Rs. 0.97 crore through morning, afternoon, and evening shows, recording an impressive 10.8% occupancy.
