Macron’s gift to the Queen of England for the 70th anniversary celebrations

Queen Elizabeth II, received one of the President of France’s expensive cavalry, the horse named Pavul de Maukor, crossed the English Channel from Paris this week, and was handed over to the British Horsemen’s Cavalry

Queen Elizabeth II of Britain celebrates 70 years of royalty, she received a riding horse named Pavul de Maureur, as a gift from French President Emanuel Macron. The seven-year-old gray purebred horse crossed the canal to Manchez of Paris, to become this week the permanent property of Elizabeth II.

It was handed over to Her Majesty’s cavalry today, during an official ceremony at Windsor Castle. The gift to the Queen also included a saddle and sword from the Republican Guard. The horse was one of 470 horses that served in the Republican Guard – the elite military unit that guards the French president 24 hours a day.

“To celebrate 70 years of royalty, French President Emmanuel Macron has decided to give Her Majesty one of the horses of the Republican Guard,” a presidential source told French media. “To mark the Queen’s passion for horseback riding.”

The French Embassy in the United Kingdom added: “France wanted to be involved in events taking place in Britain and the CIS countries as a way to pay homage to the Queen, whom the French love very much, and to celebrate French-British friendship.” The Queen speaks good French and has been a frequent visitor to France during her 70 years of rule.
