New episodes of The Kardashians Season 8 will be available on Thursdays, and the first seven seasons of the series are now available to stream. Kim Kardashian’s Esophagitis Diagnosis and Family Medical History
The central dramatic beat of the newly released trailer centers on Kim Kardashian dealing with a sudden health scare. I have something called esophagitis,
she says, while getting her hair and makeup done. Someone then asks her, Your father … isn’t that what he died of?
and Kim replies, “Yeah.”
The revelation instantly triggers a poignant family parallel. Kim, Kourtney and Khloé’s father, Robert Kardashian Sr, died of esophageal cancer at age 59 in 2003. His death came just two months after his July 2003 diagnosis. Later scenes in the trailer show the camera cuts to Kim in a hospital gown, while another shot later shows her being wheeled into an apparent surgery or procedure. “I can’t,” Kris Jenner says at one point. It makes me want to cry.
Per the Mayo Clinic, esophagitis is swelling and irritation, called inflammation, of the tissues that line the esophagus.
The esophagus is the muscular tube that carries food and drink from the mouth to the stomach.
The issue can cause painful, difficult swallowing
and also lead to chest pain. Without treatment, esophagitis can lead to serious health issues
