Apple has kicked off beta testing for iOS 27.2, bringing a redesigned Health app, Apple TV profiles on iPhone, and expanded Siri AI language support. The update follows the public release of iOS 27 on September 14, which introduced Siri AI, faster performance, and a new Liquid Glass interface.
iOS 27.2 Beta Expands Health Redesign and Siri AI Languages
Apple released iOS 27 on September 14, delivering major interface updates and the long-awaited Siri AI assistant. Just two days after that rollout, Apple kicked off beta testing of iOS 27.2 on September 16, pushing out new features that will likely be released to iPhone users as soon as next month.
The software path includes a notable quirk for hardware owners. Apple previously confirmed that iPhone Duo will ship with iOS 27.1 when it’s released on October 23, meaning iOS 27.1 includes many references to the iPhone Duo in its code, which Apple wants to keep under wraps until the device ships. iOS 27.1 will therefore be exclusive to the iPhone Duo. The software paths for iPhone Duo and other iPhone models will then converge, either with an iOS 27.2.x software update or perhaps with iOS 27.3, so things will be awkward for a little bit, but everything will eventually return to normal.
The update also brings more Siri AI languages. Siri AI is the big new feature in iOS 27, and iOS 27.2 expands the feature to even more users by adding Siri AI support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish.
New Health App Layout and Apple TV Profiles on iPhone
Among the most substantial additions in the iOS 27.2 beta is a redesigned Health app. At the iPhone 18 Pro event, Apple showcased an all-new version of the Health app that it said would be coming later this year, and that new app has entered beta testing as part of iOS 27.2. The redesigned Health app is split into three tabs: Insights, Longevity, and Browse. The app features an all-new design that dynamically adapts based on your data, including Apple Intelligence.
The Longevity tab includes a new Health age feature that uses Apple Watch data to show how your metrics track relative to your actual age. The new Health app likely won’t be released with iOS 27.2 next month. Instead, this is Apple kicking off beta testing of the new app before ultimately releasing it to everyone later this year.
Entertainment features also receive an expansion. The Apple TV app in iOS 27.2 adds support for profiles for the first time. This feature has been available on tvOS for several years, but this is the first time it has come to iPhone.
Additionally, iOS 27.2 expands Dual Capture mode for Group FaceTime. In iOS 27, Apple added a new Dual Capture feature for FaceTime that lets you have your front and rear cameras active at the same time, and iOS 27.2 expands this feature to Group FaceTime calls for the first time.
What iOS 27 Delivered at Launch
The foundational iOS 27 release brought sweeping changes across the operating system. Siri has now been renamed to Siri AI. It now uses better Apple foundational models on top of Gemini to answer your queries. The new Siri AI is more intelligent in answering your questions, can search the internet, read the files on your iPhone, and also comes with screen awareness and agentic capabilities that can take actions on your behalf. Given it is powered by Apple Intelligence, Siri AI requires an iPhone 15 Pro or newer, and advanced on-device Apple Intelligence models are currently supported only on iPhones with a minimum of 12 GB of RAM, which is available only on the iPhone 17 Air and iPhone 17 Pro series.

Apple said Siri AI is limited to English to start, and the feature will be subject to daily usage limits, with expanded access to be available for a fee in the future. Siri AI will not be initially available in the EU on iOS 27 and iPadOS 27.

Along with the Apple Intelligence features, the update also improves performance and introduces a new liquid glass slider. You can now finally change the liquid glass transparency on your iPhone if you hate it. iOS 27 also brings with it plenty of useful additions, some of which Android users have enjoyed for years.
iOS 27 is compatible with the exact same iPhone models as iOS 26, meaning the update will be available for the iPhone 11 series and newer, including the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, iPhone Duo, iPhone 17e, iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone Air, iPhone 16e, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro Max, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, and the iPhone SE (2nd generation and later).
