Tata has sold more electric vehicles than ever before!

Tata Motors sold 2,000 units of Nexan and Decor electric vehicles in December 2021. It has also proven that sales of electric vehicles are becoming more and more popular, paving the way for greener and cleaner alternatives. On the other hand, the Tata Nexan is the highest selling car in India in December 2021. This surpasses sales of Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai vehicles.

Domestic electric car maker Tata Motors has seen 439 per cent growth in sales of its electric cars over the past year. This is up from 418 units last year, up from 2,255 units sold in December 2020. Accordingly exceeded 2,000 units. This is a significant milestone for Tata Electric vehicles. In that category it sold 1,751 electric cars in November 2021. That means in December 2021 they grew by 29 percent.

Only two electric cars, the Nexan and the Decor model electric vehicles, currently dominate the Indian electric car market and remain together. The Nexan electric car is currently the most popular electric car in India. Tata Motors plans to launch the Ultros Electric soon, and the popular micro-SUV electric version is expected in the near future. The company has sold about 10,000 units in the first half of this year and for the first time in December 2021 it has sold 2,000 units monthly, said Shailesh Chandra, CEO of the company.

Also Tata Nexan plans to release an upgraded version of the electric car soon with a larger battery. To grow its electric vehicle business in the Indian market, Tata Motors has established its own electric vehicle subsidiary Tata Passenger Electric Mobility. According to Tata Motors, it has recently allotted Rs 7,500 crore worth of shares to its electric vehicles.

On the other hand, Tata Nexan recorded a total sales of 12,899 units in December 2021. It was 6,835 units during the same period last year. So this year’s growth is 88.7 percent. Accordingly, Tata’s total sales in December 2011 were 35,299 units. It was 23,545 units in the same period last year. It also surpassed Hyundai’s sales with a positive growth of 50 percent.
