The first women’s IPL is reported to start next year. The BCCI is all set to launch the first women’s IPL in March 2023. National media reports. The BCCI has been in talks with the England and Australian cricket boards and the International Cricket Council. The BCCI has asked the ICC to prepare a window for the Women’s IPL in March. Cricket boards have reacted positively to the idea of a women’s IPL.
The BCCI is planning to start the IPL with six teams. IPL franchises like Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings are keen to field a women’s team. Two windows are being considered. March is more likely, but September is also under consideration.
