100 days to the Russia-Ukraine war: How much did Putin achieve?

by time news

100 days of the Russia-Ukraine war: The British Ministry of Defense today (Friday) published the daily intelligence report on its behalf in a special summary, in which it described the achievements of the Russian army in relation to their original plan and the way in which they could try and achieve all the objectives.

The report noted that Russian military forces have failed to achieve their initial objectives of capturing the centers of government of Kyiv and Ukraine. Strong Ukrainian military resistance thwarted Russian offensive operations. Following the failure of the initial plan, through false planning assumptions and poor tactical implementation, Russia adjusted its continued fighting to focus on Donbas province, where it recorded tactical success.

Russia controls more than 90 percent of Luhansk Oblast and is expected to complete control in the next two weeks. Admittedly, Russia failed to produce maneuverability or movement on fronts or other axes when everyone was on the defensive. Compared to Russia’s original plan, none of the strategic objectives were achieved. In order for Russia to achieve some form of success it will require a huge continued investment of manpower and equipment, and is likely to take a long time.

Also, Ukrainian President Zalansky recently said that 20% of his country’s territory is now controlled by Russia: “We are required to defend ourselves against almost the entire Russian army that shares this aggression,” the president said, adding: “Frontline battles span more than 1,000 km”.

In addition, Britain has announced it will send multiple launch rocket systems to Ukraine, in line with the US decision to supply Ukraine with advanced weapons systems, a move that Russia sees as contributing to the escalation of existing tensions.
