Chennai: India’s legend MS Dhoni says district team is the most basic and paramount level of cricket. The most important thing about future players is to excel in the district team. The news agency IANS reported that MSD said that the growth started with the district team, so they should be proud to represent that team.
Early in my career I dreamed of finding the best score because I represent the district. Selection trials will be invited to the state team only if they perform well for the district team. So you should be proud of the district team you represent. While trying to put out a good performance while playing at the school level, it is important to get selected for the district team. The goals will extend from the district to the Ranji team and from there to the Indian team. I am happy to be able to play for the Indian team. It would not have been possible if I had not played for my district or school. At the jubilee celebrations of the Tiruvallur Cricket Association, MS Dhoni said that he was proud to be part of the district team.
Dhoni made his international debut in December 2004 and led India to victory in the 2007 Twenty20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy. Dhoni is the only captain to have won all the ICC trophies, making India number one in the ICC Test rankings. He scored 10733 runs in 350 ODIs. He is the fifth ODI run-getter in India. He has played in 90 Tests and 98 Twenty20 Internationals. Dhoni has 4876 runs in Tests and 1617 runs in International T20s. He scored 4978 runs in 234 matches in the IPL. He led Chennai Super Kings to four titles.
